Where have all the Marketing jobs gone!

In last two weeks, not one quality marketing position has been advertised in the local press or online such as Seek or Careerone.

With heaps of sales positions available in the Hunter, is it posible that our local corporate leaders are rooted in the pasted, focusing on sales, rather than marketing their brands?

I know the marketing industry has to improve as a profession, but come on…our region has to become more competive and the only way to do that is through marketing.

    Is it possible that it’s just that time of year when people aren’t really looking at taking on new employees? Couple that with the recent election and small business’ not being so ‘Kevin’ friendly and it may account for the downturn?
    Hey, have you heard of this fella Robert Beerworth, (http://www.robertbeerworth.com)? He has a few interesting posts regarding social networking, web 2.0 and things along those lines, and how they can help business marketing.. Quite a good read..
