Adage Power 150 moves goalposts – Alexa
398…401…428…What’s happened to my ranking?
Well I found out today.
Todd and the guys and girls at Adage’s power 150 have introduced a fifth algorithm source to obtain its rankings. So now the five sources are Google; Bloglines, Alexa and Technorati. The other is Todd’s own personal subjective measure.
The new guy on the block is Alexa.
According to AdAge Power 150:
Alexa Points (1 to 30): Alexa ranks sites with an algorithm that incorporates page views and reach (the percentage of all web users who have visited that particular site). For the Power 150, we take that rank and assign it a proportional score between 1 and 30 and factor it into a blog’s total score.
Quick as a flash I registered…thanks Todd for keeping me on my toes!

I dont think I rank on any of them, so the question begs to be asked!
Basically to rank higher on these you need more people reading and linking your blog, so how do you achieve that? What’s the best way to get your blog out to the world and get them reading?
Content is king, but that will only take you so far right?
