Social network’s find their G Spot

The sound of the Bee Gee’s will never be the same…Images_2

Have the Japanese inventors ‘Joymind’ created the worlds first social networking sex toy? The aptly named ‘gPod’ consists of a handset that can connect to a music player, television, mobile phone and now…you guessed it – a computer.

When Gavin Heaton and Drew McLellan published the marketing book ‘The age of conversation’ I’m sure they were not thinking about an actual age.

Bloggers can now satisfy their female and a few male readers with a simple podcast of their voice (Baritone are said to be good) or Barry White’s.

Its a big hit in ‘Second life’ and I hear lonely middle age women are using it while streaming live perfomances of Luciano Pavarotti.

You’ve got to love the AMI…

Posted by gordon on July 28th, 2007

I’ve just received a letter from the Australian Marketing Institute calling for nominations to the State Council.

Should I or shouldn’t I nominate myself?

The last time I was elected to the NSW State Council, I was not allowed to take my seat at the table.

Why you may ask?

Well…the good old dudes on the AMI’s NSW Council, supported by the Institutes CEO and a few Directors, got together and decided to ignore the Institutes constitution to stop marketers living outside Sydney being elected. Especially regional marketer’s.

I’d love to find out how long this has been going on!!!

I’m worth a honorable mention…

Posted by gordon on July 27th, 2007

Top_150I’m in the ‘The Top Marketing Blogs Power 150′ chart.

What is the ‘The Top Marketing Blogs Power 150′?

Well its a global ranking of the top English-language marketing blogs.

Quoting from their own site, "Originally launched in January 2007 as a USA-based ranking, the Power 150 expanded worldwide to include all English-language blogs after TechBrew provided the list’s automation in March 2007."

They,ve calculated who’s in the ranking by a very simple, multimetric algorithm, so they say! and the final ranking is based on the sum of four unique and mostly objective sources.

In true blogging fashion, I’m going to list all my fellow ‘Honorable Mentions’:

THE AGE OF CONVERSATION — Edited by Drew McLellan and Gavin Heaton

Posted by gordon on July 16th, 2007

803732520_3aaa0cec00_2 As I’m writing this, Media Hunter is in the other room talking to Gavin Heaton over the phone about the impending launch of their marketing ebook, ‘The Age of Conversation’.

So…it got me thinking, should I do a book review or do I let the blogging buzz spread the word. In true blogging fashion, I’ll let the experts do the talking and I do what I do best…cut & paste!

Oh…before I cut and paste, have you tried to Technorati ‘The Age of Conversation’?  You can choose from over 160k links…not bad for something that only started 3 months ago…

The book review I’m going to repeat for you is from the ‘Advertising Age’- enjoy:)

Out of the 100 leading marketers that submitted articles for this book, I believe that my mate Media Hunter is the only one, from the Hunter Valley.
